Study guides can add depth to homeschool curriculum. Guides, such as those from Progeny Press, make a great addition to Language Arts studies. We were excited to receive Little Women and A New Coat For Anna Study Guides.
About the Study Guides
Progeny Press study guides are a comprehensive tool to help guide you through literature selections. Little Women Study Guide is geared for grades 8-12 while A New Coat For Anna is more for K-3. These are both digital products in an e-book format. I printed them out and then took them to our local office supply store and had them spiral bound.
Little Women
This particular guide was perfect for this year since we were already reading this novel. While the company recommends this guide for grades 8-12, I did use it with my 6th grader. Feel free to adjust based on your student’s level.
I love the deep vocabulary, questions, and discussion sections. The guide even included optional activities. My 6th grader was not interested in the activities and so we did not spend time on them. However, when it came to discussion time, she really enjoyed engaging with the questions.
A New Coat For Anna
My 6th grader had already read this book years ago in first grade, and was excited to read it with her brother, a pre-kindergartner. While he was not ready to fully engage with the study guide, I am looking forward to using it again in a couple of years for his first grade year.
This guide included activities and art suggestions. I am looking forward to doing these with him soon!
